The Expanding Expression Tool: A Multi-Sensory Approach for Oral and Written Language provides a hands-on, structured approach to describing and defining. EET uses auditory, visual, and tactile information to help students organize information for speaking and writing. EET is color symbol coded. Students learn the code and from this code are able to provide detailed descriptions including the following elements: the category the item belongs to, the function of the item, the appearance, what the item is made of, the parts of the item, and its location. Tool can be used for general descriptions, writing from prior knowledge, autobiographies/biographies, summarizing and more. Use for classroom discussion, small group activities, learning games, demonstrations and hands-on activities. Student age range: preschool through high school students.
