In this play by Sophocles, the city of Thebes is suffering from a plague which is the result of a curse on the city because of a murder that has never been solved. Then the gods tell King Oedipus that Thebes will be cursed until the king can find and punish the murderer. Oedipus sets out to solve the crime, but he soon learns that this crime is not the only mystery to be solved. It turns out that there is a horrible secret in the king’s past. Greek tragedy.
