  ICN in-service session was held on March 20, 2005. Presenters Dr. Mary Roberts and Dr. Sara Wright (UI) discuss the educational implications of moderate to severe traumatic brain injury. Defines the differences between mild and moderate trauma. Symptoms are listed for severe trauma. Looks at the recovery process and the variables that are considered in order to predict the outcome. Discusses the neurological evaluation which assesses the cognitive strengths and weaknesses. Tests assess attention, memory (visual and verbal), visuoperceptual-motor, executive functioning, speed of information processing.
