Complete title: The Oregon Project for Preschool Children Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired, Sixth Edition. A comprehensive assessment and curriculum designed for use with children birth to six who are blind or visually impaired. The OR Project has two parts: The Skills Inventory and the manual. Skills Inventory is an assessment with six sections covering the major developmental areas and two specialized sections unique to children with visual impairments: Compensatory Skills and Vision Skills. The Skills Inventory is a criterion-referenced tool and cannot be used as a normative assessment instrument. Inventory consists of 835 behavioral statements organized into eight areas: Cognitive, Language, Social, Vision, Compensatory, Self-Help, Fine Motor, and Gross Motor. Includes teaching activities that correspond to the developmental skills. The Reference Section includes glossary, references, resources for obtaining materials, articles on play and development, reproducible forms, checklists, etc. Contents: manual, CD with resources, and Skills Inventory.
