Playing the Diversity card game gives individuals and groups a picture of their thinking style preference and points the way toward working together more effectively. Based on the Whole Brain Model developed by Ned Herrmann, a four-quadrant metaphor of how the brain works. Could be used as an icebreaker for kick-off meetings and provides critical individual and team information on thinking styles. Could also be used to put together teams with similar or diverse thinking style preferences within a larger group; build cohesive teams; look at the group's thinking style preferences; discover individual mental preferences to use as an aid in career exploration. Goals of the game: give people a chance to get to know each other; experience the differences in thinking style preferences with a large group; give people an understanding that there are no right or wrong thinking style preferences; build acceptance and understanding of those with different thinking style preferences; help groups look at their thinking style strengths and blind spots. Time required: about an hour. Up to 25 people may play at a time with the two card decks included. Contents: instructional manual, display mat, carrying bag, two card decks, and plastic card holders.
