CBITS is a a program designed to help school counselors and psychologists work with students to significantly reduce the symptoms associated with trauma. The evidence-based guide uses cognitive-behavioral therapy to foster and build the skills that children need as they cope with trauma and its aftermath. Focuses on techniques proven to have an impact on stress, depression, and anxiety. It is an early intervention approach that teaches schools to recognize the signs of commonly experienced traumas (violence/disasters) and then to treat the trauma quickly.
