Hands-on activities for the student (grades 5-9) that builds the concepts of density as the ratio of mass to volume. Through a series of experiences, students measure volume, explore the idea of space between particles, whether seen or not, discover the float line and relationship between surface area and cargo capacity of foil or clay boats, and explore the densities and volumes of woods, spherical objects and irregular shaped objects. | |
