Subtitle: Fraction Lessons for the Middle Grades Level 1. Authors: Kathleen Cramer, Merlyn Behr, Thomas Post, and Richard Lesh. Hands-on lessons (23) most appropriate for grades 4-5 involve children in large group and small group settings using manipulative materials. Lessons develop understanding of the operations with fractions by using story problems and fraction circles. Emphasizes estimation.
