Lessons give students experience with the tens and ones structure ofour number system. They build proficiency by comparing and explaining the relative size of numbers, counting larger numbers in two or more ways, and recognizing that the number of objects always remains the same despite different ways of grouping. Children's books are integrated into lessons. Extension activities and assessments are also included. Authors: Maryann Wickett and Marilyn Burns. From the series Teaching Arithmetic. | |
