The first section of the Second Edition provides an introduction to the Vygotskian approach, acquiring mental tools and other theories of development. Section II presents strategies for development and learning (Zone of Proximal Development). Using mediators, using language, and using shared activities. The third section provides separate chapters on developmental accomplishments of children at specific ages: infants and toddlers, preschoolers and kindergarteners, and primary grade students. Also gives examples of Vygotsky-based classroom practices. The final chapter is on dynamic assessment. Includes activities. | |
