Guide provides an introduction to electricity and electric circuits. In Part I, students explore simple open and closed circuits; learn about short circuits; and investigate the role of batteries, resistance, conductors, and insulators. They invent their own switch designs and learn to draw schematic diagrams. Part II is for older or more advanced students. Students build and compare series and parallel circuits, and pair up to create their own electric inventions. The unit culminates in an Electric Inventions Festival. | |
